Why is this study important?

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) during cardiac arrest offers an opportunity to improve success of resuscitation by determining myocardial activity and identifying intrathoracic reversible causes of cardiac arrest. The recommended maximum duration for pulse checks during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is 10 seconds (s) presumably because pulse checks > 10 s have an adverse impact on patient outcome. Hence, this study examines impact of POCUS on the delay of CPR.
