BEEM is an international, emergency medicine, knowledge translation project created by emergency physicians for emergency physicians.

The vision of BEEM is to be the most valid, reliable, and unbiased global source of current clinically-relevant patient-centered research for Emergency Physicians.

Accreditation and Certification

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada:
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.  You may claim a maximum of 12 hours.
College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC):
This 3-credit-per-hour BEEM program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 36  Mainpro+® credits.

Target Audience

Clinicians who practice who practice in a variety of emergency settings, including rural, urban, academic, and non-academic centres. The course is open to physicians, residents, fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and anyone interested in the most up to date evidence in emergency medicine.

Objectives

The BEEM course are designed to be interactive. By the end of the sessions, the participants will:
Be able to critically appraise the articles presented, including an understanding of methodology, analysis, and bias.
Identify the clinical practice change suggested by the new research / article.
