Why is this study important?
This clinical practice guideline (CPG) updates the previous CPG from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) published in 2003.[1] Many changes in the epidemiology of pediatric fevers have occurred since 2003 including newer vaccination strategies, diagnostic testing, and changes in serious bacterial infection (SBI) rates and microbiologies.
