Why is this study important?
Many emergency department (ED) patients requiring endotracheal intubation have anatomic features that indicate a possibly difficult airway. The optimal intubating strategy for these patients is not known. This study compares a strategy of bougie facilitated intubation-to-intubation with the standard endotracheal tube and stylet.
