Why is this study important?
The diagnosis of urinary tract infection (UTI) is essential in febrile infants ≤ 60 days old because of the high association of with serious bacterial illness. However, it is also challenging because of the reported high variation in diagnostic performance or urinalyses. The objective of this study was to determine the accuracy of a urinalysis for UTI in this high-risk population.
