Why is this study important?
Pediatric pneumonia is a common emergency department (ED) diagnosis that can carry significant morbidity and mortality. Guidelines recommend diagnosis based on clinical findings rather than reliance on chest radiography (CXR) and laboratory studies.[1] This study aims to elucidate the highest yield clinical findings for diagnosis of radiographic pneumonia. Differentiating between pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections is important to practice good antibiotic stewardship.
