Why is this study important?
Differentiating between an abscess and cellulitis can often pose a diagnostic challenge. However, the management of each case is quite different. This study aims to synthesize the current literature on the test performance characteristics of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to diagnose abscesses.
