Why is this study important?

Emergency physicians use corticosteroids daily in the treatment of pediatric patients. Although much is known about the side effects of these medications in long-term use, little is known about the incidence and relative risk of specific side effects arising from short-term dosing, defined in this study as 14 days or less.
